This morning we met with a Hennepin County judge who finalized our adoption and made Olivia an official US citizen! After 1 1/2 hours in crazy winter traffic (what should have been about a 30 minute drive), we finally rolled in to the juvenile court and the judge pronounced us parents and child! :)
“This court is now in session” said Olivia, as she rapped her gavel and called us all to attention.
Though she has been a member of our family since June, it’s nice to know it’s official and we’re just about done with all the adoption paperwork!
She got the cutest new citizen award from everyone at the courthouse (well, at least we think she should have) and her prize was a long ride home in more slow traffic.
