Basement Project is done!

We decided to open up the basement by removing the wall for the bedroom.  It’s totally opened it up and we get the natural light from the window as well.

Instead of putting a new carpet in for the romp room we make do by reusing the existing carpet and trimming in a wood border where the wall used to be.

Here’s some pictures during the demolition.  I (Dave) had fun tearing it down (as you can see by the video).P1010295

Between the the studs of the door jamb I found the skeleton of a mouse!  Looked kind of pre-historic to me.

DONE!  We wrapped the load bearing pole with natural hemp rope.  There were so many wraps that we got sick to our stomachs going around the pole so many times that we had to break it up into a 3 evening job.
