It's a strange mixture of emotions with adoption. There are elements that are like meeting a baby born to you, as now this child becomes the reality of what up until now you had been imagining. And there are differences as we're finding ourselves in the position of being evaluated and "sized up" by a child who is old enough to know that something is different, and has lived a life seperate from you for a portion of her life. As we merge paths here, we are both in a vulnerable position of newness. What a gift she will be to us, and (hopefully) us to her.
We also had the chance to visit the Eastern Babies Home, where Olivia spent the first few weeks of her life (see picture below). Lots of precious lives in there.
Thanks for checking in!

Sophia was not nearly so snuggly! When her foster mom said "ohma" (mamma)and pointed to me, Sophia shook her head "no!" Surprisingly, it didn't break my heart, because of course I wasn't her "ohma"...yet. But, count yourselves blessed to have a snuggly baby! It didn't take Sophia long to become a steadfast "mamma's girl." Those pics you posted are precious!
